...

Besides, Denis is based at the University of Pennsylvania, where I got my BA. So I'll drink a highball at nightfall for good old Pennsylvania.

S. Gaber

No. The DENIS project is based in Spain, at the Universidad San Jorge (USJ)

You are right. It is Folding that is based at the University of Pennsylvania.

My bad.

CloudFlare creating roadblocks all over the place

Definitely. I can't attach my project because CloudFlare thinks my IP is dirty and is serving my BOINC client damned Captchas.

Folks over at Denis are complaining about no new tasks. Dunno exactly what the problem is, but I suspect it's CloudFlare creating roadblocks all over the place. I currently have...3983 tasks queued up so I'm not having any problems, at least there.

Must be..he has 55,000+ in queue

I use a VPN and shift all over the globe at random times. It mostly works for me.

Not getting any WU's on Android, so please remove the project from the Android BOINC app Project list, if it's not supported anymore, so people don't waste their time, trying to make it work.

No one from the project monitors the forums.
Best that you just take this project off your android device.
As far as I know this project has never supported android.
The foldit program may. But not Rosetta.

I don't know if you're joking or not, the application page clearly shows a Rosetta Android program. It's just that Rosetta Beta doesn't support Android, and the old Rosetta has been out or WUs for some time.

There have been several batches released over the last few weeks, but in very small numbers. Combined with the issues with work availability in general (only occasionally work in Ready to send buffer), download server issues and IPv6 issues, the odds of getting any of them when they are released are very, very slight.

Double check the hosts file on that system, or make sure IPv6 is disabled on it.

Grant (SSSF).
Many thanks for your tip. I wasn't aware that there could be an issue with IPv6. When I disabled this, everything worked. Now I'm just waiting for new WUs to be ready to ship.

Thanks again for your help. It's much appreciated.

L.

The problem is with the DNS for IPv6- that's what the Hosts file edit is for- to make it use the IPv4 addresses.
If the hoist file entries aren't there, then disabling IPv6 also forces it to use the IPv4 server addresses.

We have been hashing on about this IPV6 thing since it started.
You can still use IPV6 you just have to add these addresses to the hosts file.

128.95.160.156 boinc-files.bakerlab.org
128.95.160.156 bwsrv1.bakerlab.org

Once I did that in hosts I did not have to disable IPV4 anymore and everything worked again.

Minor problem, Acronis true image 2020 active protection malware detection on my windows 10 PC flagged Rosetta beta 6.06 (rosetta_beta_6.06_windows_x86_64.exe) as possible malware.

Where do I find or create a hosts file for Window 11?
Same as all previous versions of Windows.

From a previous post by Greg_BE

It a IPV6 address error. A server went crazy so we use this work around to solve that:
Here how you do it...

open file explorer and then do this
Goto C:>Windows>System32>drivers>etc
find the hosts file

then:
Press the Windows key.
Type Notepad in the search field.
In the search results, right-click Notepad and select Run as. administrator and open the hosts file

then paste the following two lines:

128.95.160.156 boinc-files.bakerlab.org
128.95.160.156 bwsrv1.bakerlab.org

save the file.

If it gives you any trouble, then rename the original hosts file with a .old extenstion and create a new one but make sure you do not give it any extension. So make sure to 'save as' with 'all files' selected in file type. Windows needs to see it as a 'file'.
