Such a pity that so many people crunch, yet waste every second that they do so by doing it there. A complete & total waste of time.

I agree, it is a shame the way the project has gone from a good one to a black hole! I like the concept but obviously something is wrong over there!

The BOINC project goes on as they have plenty of data.
The SETI program using the dishes is being cut or hibernated.

Are they analyzing any of the data the users return yet? When I left Seti in March 2007 they admitted that all data being returned was just being left on the shelf for analysis at a 'later date', apparently they had no resources to analyze it! I decided I was not crunching for a project that could not take the time to do anything with all my pc's hard work! That is why, and when, I came to Malaria!!

good news? how can this possibly in any which way be good news? its terrible news! The whole reason why Boinc is even here in the first place is because of SETI

However, if you are hoping homeless SETI@home crunchers will start using rosetta, think again

the SETI@home community is tight. The community will keep it afloat as they have in the past

I don't know how 'tight' they are, but ALOT of us are former Seti crunchers. Seti does seem to the starting point for alot of Distributed Computing crunchers, but most move on only to be replaced by others. According to this page http://boincstats.com/index.php?pr=sah Seti does have by far the most number of users, and is getting more and more every day, but it does not show the number of people that join and never return a unit or leave shortly after joining. The other projects stats however show an increase also, meaning some must be switching from project to project, and/or joining multiple projects, to account for the numbers.
