"shut down temporarily to make modifications to the SAN filesystem" ... that was six days ago.

I've been involved with storage upgrades before. At this point, experience tells me that the Rosetta servers are on fire, everybody is dead, and that the entirety of Washington state will soon be nuked from orbit to contain the damage.

This is a permanent issue in R@H... lack of communication with the final (and volunteer) contributors. I really dont understand why the project team do not make more efforts to communicate news and status of the project... Very sad.

Other projects have been worse, months between posts. This used to be great. Now there is never any posts on the front page saying that it has been fixed.

Or not. I'm doing Einstein for the (supposedly rare) times that either of my two primary projects goes down for a brief time. Lately, I've been doing a lot of Einstein work (which I'm sure they appreciate).

I will say that people could be gone for Christmas break, as this is based at a university. But if that's the case, then why do a upgrade 2 days before Christmas knowing that no one is going to be around UW for a whole week? Something doesn't make sense to me.

In the past Project Admins at other Projects have said 'why post that the Project is down, they already know it is down'! So they have said they were spending their time fixing the problem instead of posting about the problem. This time I am guessing it was simply something that slipped thru the cracks and due to the Holidays they missed it.
