Hey guys!! BOINC 6.6.20 has finally been released to the public. After many upgrades as I have followed the testing through, this is definitely the most stable version of the 6.6 client so far. Anyone currently running Rosseta@home and another CUDA project should look to be upgrading, handles cuda and non-cuda requests much better than 6.4.7 and also allows the option of CUDA work to be suspended whilst the computer is in use. Happy crunching! Hammeh |

Just grabbed it. Slightly different look, but no problems there. Most significant difference is that I used to keep an "additional work buffer" of 3.0 days, which never lasted anywhere near as long. I worked through it in 20-22 hours when running down the buffer before changing over versions (no idea what my DCF figure was, running 24-7, but that's how it turned out). The new version seems to have got it right, now. My 23 WUs (3.0 days) has now turned into 52 WUs (2.0 days). If any of you are the type who likes or needs to have a week's worth of work buffered up, be warned. You may start exceeding deadlines before getting to most of them. Also, I only run one project, so I have no idea what this means for those running several. Perhaps others can comment. I upgraded from v6.4.7 and hadn't noticed any changes before, so this should apply to those who upgrade from earlier versions too. Note also, the new version seems more right, so it's not a bug. But it is still a big difference to what you became used to. |

I reverted back to 6.2.18 on OS X. The apps kept crunching, but the client kind of froze and stopped updating. Had to force quit a few times.. |

I reverted back to 6.2.18 on OS X. The apps kept crunching, but the client kind of froze and stopped updating. Had to force quit a few times.. I have found that on the windows 32-bit version of 6.6.20, sometimes whenever you change the activity from run always to suspend, it hangs. However, looking at the testers results, I can see no implication of errors. |

I reverted back to 6.2.18 on OS X. The apps kept crunching, but the client kind of froze and stopped updating. Had to force quit a few times.. I have now seen that behavior from 6.5.0 and later ... I reported it on the mailing list to no acknowledgement (yet). The only good news is that the science applications seem to stay running ... |

I have a handful of incidents where the BOINC manager loses contact with localhost in spite of reporting that the connection is still active. But only on Intel - PPC seems to work without these problems :-) |
