Does rosetta@stone have a 64 bit version? Is there a FAQ? Are there optimized versions by operating system or CPU type? Thanks! Gary |

Does rosetta@stone have a 64 bit version? Is there a FAQ? Are there optimized versions by operating system or CPU type? Hi Gary. No on both counts, only 32bit from what i can remember. anyone else got a better answer. Plenty of F.A.Q.'s around you just have to look. pete. |

Each forum board has a thread with an index to Rosetta information which includes FAQ and other useful info. No there is no true 64bit client. Only a 64bit wrapper around the 32bit version. No there is no optimized client. The code is available free of charge under license agreement though if you know someone with the skills to work on one, and the time to rework it every time a new release comes out. There has been much debate on the boards over whether Rosetta is the type of application that would benefit much from 64bits or from SSE and other optimization techniques. But if someone shows great progress with it, I would bet the Project Team would be willing to incorporate improvements into their master version. This would make for much less rework when a new release comes out. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Thanks Pete! Ooops, I posted too fast. I'll go look for the source code now. Gary Does rosetta@stone have a 64 bit version? Is there a FAQ? Are there optimized versions by operating system or CPU type? |

Source code has always been available under the license described. There's no new news here. Making an optimized client could certainly be considered an "acedemic persuit". And therefore falls under the license agreement's terms. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Each forum board has a thread with an index to Rosetta information which includes FAQ and other useful info. If the source code does the same operation on many pieces (or a set) of data at once, then it will greatly help to use SSE2 instructions. |
