If I close my laptop's lid and the screen saver is running... will the PC still be using CPU resources to show the screen saver?

Is your laptop set to hibernate once the lid is closed?

No. I'm not that retarded :)

But, I was wondering if the CPU kept feeding updates of the screensaver when I close the lid. The screen shuts off apparently, but when I open the lid, the screen saver pops-up just like that.

Logic would say that if the screen saver function is enabled, it will stay that way even if the physical screen is off. when you bring the physical screen back on, it will show you the screen saver. Isn't this similar to when on a desktop you have screensaver and screen on for x minutes but then after that x minute mark the screen goes dark? then when you wiggle the mouse and the screen comes back on the screensaver function is still going until you wiggle the mouse again and come back to the desktop.
