For those of you who may ne interested FightAids@Home has now moved to World Community Grid. Its launch date is Monday and it currently appears only to work on the UD Client, however they are working on porting it over to BOINC very soon.

FightAids@Home are ditching there current client by the end of the year.

I suppose this project would fit in nicely with FightAids@Home

Definatly not running on BOINC for the moment they need to compile the software for each OS and it may take them some time to get it going so for now it only works on the UD Client and Not BOINC

Will FightAids@Home work on BOINC Windows Version or is it the same as LINUX and not compatiable for now until you have worked on it??

The UD application has a different API for checkpointing, starting, stopping, and IO handling then BOINC does. On the server side, packaging workunits, validation and taking results off of the grid are done differently as well.

The new project was implemented on the UD platform first we wanted it available for the majority of our users immediately.

We are now migrating the FightAIDS@Home project to the BOINC platform. This will take a few weeks to implement and sufficiently test. We will announce that it is available on BOINC at that time.

The short answer to your question is that FightAIDS@Home is available only on the UD Windows agent at this time. It is not currently available on the BOINC Windows or BOINC Linux platform now. It will be available for these platforms in a few weeks.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't run ANY project that has ties to WCG / UD.

Sad, because I'd be really interested in running FAAH. (Were it not to have been abandoned by Entropia, and put into hibernation mode with Olsen.)

Well, given the past history of the FAAH project, and Scripps in general..

I'd much rather give my cycles to Rosetta, especially now that they have a vested interest in HIV research. See my post on the World AIDS Conference.
