I have a question about the performance of the calculations and the graphical part of Rosetta. On the website part of the performance of the program, where you can change the 'Number of frames per second for graphics' and the 'Percentage of CPU time used for graphics', if I change the frames per second from 10 to 30, will this affect the speed of the calculations since I haven't changed the percentage of CPU time? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

i think that is related to when you have the graphics window open as to how many fps it will show on that screen. i don't think it has to do with calculations made by the cpu in crunching the work unit. someone correct me if i am wrong. it doesn't affect the calculations directly, but it will probably increase the CPU utilisation in order to show the graphics, thereby slowing the calculations. Whether it slows them by any significant amount I don't know... HTH Danny |

Whether it slows them by any significant amount I don't know... i found the answer in the rosetta@home options Percentage of CPU time used for graphics (not selected defaults to 10) |

Whether it slows them by any significant amount I don't know... to make this one complete ;) if you set the settings of boinc to use 90% of your cpu and rosetta is running with graphics the graphics will use 9% of total cpu time. |
