After about a week of crunching my new build quad core is running it's last 4 WUs from it's last update. So I did a manual update and it uploaded the finished WUs and requested 0 seconds of new work.

Te system is running Vista with all the updates, the latest Boinc client.

i've seen mine do that a few times but not recently. It finally downloaded new work when one of the WUs hit 90+%.... just had a look at yours and it seems to have sorted itself - loads of queued tasks...

The queue emptying and refilling is often a sign of too large a queue. The total of the connect every setting and the maintain additional work setting should be less than 40% of the shortest expected deadline. Deadlines here are normally 10 days so any combination greater than 4 days can cause the queue to drain before refilling. Of the two settings the connection interval has more influence on this behavior and making it shorter may help prevent it.

also take a look at your work units in progress and their deadlines.
if you have anything due in the next 24-48 hours boinc will not download any new work until those high priority deadlines have been finished.
