I am running beta 5.80 and it just stopped on me with a computation error.

I have already found a way to opt out of these beta packets. I abort them.

Is there any stable work around yet?
If so, I'll give this approach a try.
If there's just this untested, extremely buggy, beta stuff, I'll further let my puter crunch better maintained projects.

I seem to be having a lot of trouble also with the application called "Rosetta Beta", and yes, I have read about the naming, and no, this isn't old stuff from the era of the thread start, this is recent.

100302548
100324261
100348335
100320742
100307673

All of these have been in the last few days. That is starting to look like a serious attrition rate as most of them are after the 3 hours crunching. All "Rosetta Beta" application.

I agree with an earlier poster, we are trying to refine models, and these failures are clearly something not right, but that is information for the project, and not worthy of zero credit to those that find these problems.

Abort them is an option if they are running on a local computer and you are ploughing through the forums 24/7. In my case, I have machines running at remote sites which I do not have the luxury of pressing an abort key even if I'd been alerted to do so.

I chuck a good bit of RAC at Rosetta, but it is starting to niggle my brain this. Any chance we can get this sorted?

adrianxw, if you click in to each of your results you've listed, you will see they have all been granted the credit claimed by your machine.

The results listing does not show the credit granted by the nightly script that grants credit to failed results.

Hi adrianxw,
You are right!! Thanks for your explanation. I did not know where those “failure” credits came from.
And thanks to Rosetta.

So I now need to keep a log of what went wrong and check it again a day later to be sure it got credited when it should have but maybe didn't when it should have.

Right, that sounds like a step forward.

I've been around for ages, how do you think this kind of thing strikes newbies?

Not mine! 109745450

I agree there needs to be a better way to do this. I still think of my self as a newbie and I am not happy that there is no real communication about these wu’s. I was going to start another PC on rah but I decided rah is not ready to set and forget. An opt out button would help.

I am not supper interested in the points but it is a big waste of my PC and MY time. I have my PC set up to do 24hr long wu’s to help keep the projects network traffic down maybe I should change it back to 3hr wu’s at least it would only waste 3hrs before starting a new wu.

There uses to be an alert thread to warn users of bad wu’s and or other issues. Instead we are force to search thru to many places to find out about an issue. During the weekend I had to look in the ‘what’s wrong with 5.80 thread’ to find that there was issue with wu 2056 only to find that that was wrong it was wu 2055.

This is not FAIR to make me pay this much attention to my pc that is running rah. Do you really expect me to check every new post everyday because you want to run beta wu’s with out asking or being able to opt out.

I also still have some which are not granted but have been back more then 24 hours. Examples, the first is one of those Validation Errors that I mentioned in the other thread.

@JMarks:

That is a very large claim?
