BOINC mgr should not allow such settings Well... it does. The projects do not have a way to inform the BOINC manager about space requirements until after you attach and it tries to get work. BOINC flaws can be reported on the BOINC message boards. Yes, Rosetta reserves more space that is normally needed. There are cases that produce more output. Some of those cases are when things are failing for some reason on your machine. Seeing the details of the failure reported back is the best hope the Project Team has of correcting the problem.[/quote] 1. I set the settings again to 1 GB of maximal disk space (though I have only 500 MB), and it is just the same value I had before those errors appeared after a couple of years crunching and what made me to post to the board. After "repeating the communication" now BOINC performs normal!!!! 2. I tried to find a place in options and settings where to tell that BOINC should use free disk space on another partition, but could not find. Does it mean I have to de/reinstall BOINC on another partition or are there other ways to indicate partitions with enough place? BTW: Clicking menu item "read configuration" and "read local settings" (translated from german) gives no results. Gruß, Gerhard |

Uninstalling and reinstalling to another drive would certainly be one way. This would move the BOINC programs to the other drive as well as the Rosetta application and tasks. That might be a good idea to help free up some space on that drive. The version 6 BOINC clients also have the ability to designate a data directory path that is different from where BOINC is installed. This is the DATADIR property, described here.
