I run 5 different projects.. and have tried to even them out both credit wise and time wise. But it seems to get the same credits from Rosetta, I have to run this project 25% more than other projects. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?userid=73966 I do understand the whole point of these projects is donation of computers and time for good causes, don't get me wrong. It just seems if cpu time for one project should be equal(or close) to other projects. |

Are your results at all in line with the results found here? Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Are your results at all in line with the results found here? Interesting chart. I'm surprised with many of the disparities. At least, I see I am not the only one AND that Rosetta is not the only project with such disparities. Although you chart shows for example an 18% variance between Seti and Rosetta, mine variance is different. My data is based on data from the past month or so, your may be from months and months of data. Thanks for the info and the link. |

Seti has lots of optimised applications that would skew their credit/hr for a cpu/platform compared to here. At Seti, if you use an optimised application you would get more credits per/day as it has a 'fixed baseline credits/hr' If the same thing happened here (which it doesn't by the way) you would tend to 'drop' everyone else's credit/hr and increase yours very slightly. The new Core2 processors are pushing the credit/hr down for most of the older hardware as the averaging mechanism alters the baseline credits/hr The main problem is the type of work going on, the projects 'base line' scores, for instance I get points from DepSpid and it useds very little CPU power, it's just another way. I guess while the projects try to be the same, improvement etc make it not possible. In other words, you should just ignore cross platform credit comparison in the most and just make sure your time is as you want. Compare you credits within the project. Team mauisun.org |
