I just reviewed 2 results that had client errors and the debugging info said that I am running Rosetta 5.73 but I just started in July so I should be running Rosetta 5.68. Does Rosetta update the version automatically and if not how will I update it? (ie. install the new version over the old or uninstall first etc.)
The error IDs where 98554303 89321010 and 98530785 89298964
Thanks

Rosetta is actually running two versions at the same time to provide the scientists with comparable data.

BOINC applications update automatically. BOINC itself requires a download.

If your encountered errors, please report any details you have, or just the specific task IDs in the "Problems with..." thread in the Number Crunching board.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, all the rest since then seem to be fine
It happens sometimes unfortunatly.

But what about udating Rosetta? Does Rosetta update the version automatically and if not how will I update it? (ie. install the new version over the old or uninstall first etc.)
Thanks again

Rosetta will update to version 5.73 when the WU is sent to you. This is an automatic process and you will need to do nothing. Also, you may see 2 versions of Rosetta running at the same time (currently 5.73 & 5.68). This is also normal and expected at times.

Happy Crunching!

Sorry I thought this was answered in the post above mine, I guess not properly

BOINC the program interface your using and the bit that sort everythign out (i.e. what you downloaded and installed) does not update itself.

Rosetta@Home project files and program (i.e. what you are talking about) does everythign for you.
They tag the target (task) with an application version and it download what ever version it needs to do the crunching. So in effect it does auto-update.
Any distributed computing project using BOINC as it's program will do this as well (or should ;))

So simple answer.
Yes Rosetta@home updates the version automatically.
