When I look at the top 1000 computers the last PCS all have RAC of 800 plus with much slower benchmarks, For example most have Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 1.83GHz x 2 with 1.gig Ram
My Computer id is 553992
The Host id is 6185070
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz x 2 with 4 gig of Ram running Windows XP 6,009.59 and 5 meg broadband.

Recent average credit only 400’s when it should be in the 800’s or higher

This PC is dedicated to running Rosetta at Home, There are no other programs locally running on it like Word, or a screensavers. When in look at my account it show
% of time BOINC client is running 100 %
While BOINC running, % of time work is allowed 99.9653 %
Average CPU efficiency 0.997868
Result duration correction factor 0.585111
RAH since I started on July 16th.

Please help

If you just started July 16th, then your RAC is still increasing. You see RAC is an average. Because tasks reporting in can occur rather sporatically, they average your reports over the past couple of weeks.

Also, you want to check your General Preferences (see the [participants] link at the top of this forum page) and insure that you have allowed BOINC to use at least 2 processors on your machine. You should see one task running on each virtual processor you have on your machine.

If I looked you up correctly, Your Boinc Stats indicate a RAC of 836. You joined recently on July 16th so I expect your average credit is climbing.

Yes I have my preferences set to more than 2 CPUs.
Do the bonic RACs eventually match the RAH RACs?

Thanks

i think the difference between what NBIT is quoting and the RAC shown here is because BOINCStats use their own calculation for RAC which might run over a shorter duration than the official RAH one (which is the same as the official BOINC one if you're not running any other projects) shown here.

Recognize that Neil Munday's BOINC Stats site uses his own calculation as dcdc said, but the official BOINC calculation here and on other projects is a weighted moving average. My own experience with the official RAC has shown me that it is slow to respond on the incline (increased production) and somewhat faster on the decline (ceasing production). Your official RaH RAC will eventually merge with that computed by Neil Munday. I only mentioned his stats site because you said your rac was too low and should be twice what RaH shows, and according to Neil Munday you are right. Don't put too much emphasis on racs is my advice.

Thanks everyone. I do understand now. The best explaination I found was on the Bionic advanced help board. It shows how your RACs are divided by last months average, which in my case is zero, and then muliplied by some declining balance formula etc. Since my last month was zero, becuase I just started, that is why my RAC is low now.

...and it has increased about 65 or so just since you posted the question yesterday.
