Hello,

is there any way to add new PCs to youre Project without using the Logindata?

I just do not want to provide my Logindata to every helping hand ;-)

Unfortunately the account key works like the logindata. As a result of this it does not matter which data i give out. Everyone who helped would have the possibility to overtake my account.

Thank you!

Felix

NEVER>>>>> NEVER give your account key or EMAIL ADDY and PASSWORD to anyone except "project administrators", and they won't ask for it. I'm a Boinc Helper and I won't ever ask for it either. To attach more computers:

1) After installing Boinc it will ask you to attach to a project.

2) use "existing user" option

3) enter email and password (not key)

4) you're done.

It's that easy.

Hm, to avoid this problem i would like to have something like the crossprojektid as a possibility to attach to a project.

So e.g. a friend could enter this id to help me gaining credits etc.

I will not give my loginadata anyone of course.

cheers

//add: in the case, that <I> have no physical access to the machine i want to add. (A second person has to attach the new client..)

Hmmm, to attach other computer to YOUR account, a Email addy AND password are required. There's no way around that. What you can do is "create a team". Then have them create their own accounts and join your team.

[edit]the email addy is THE unique account identifier.

What a shame :)

So let's see this thread as a "feature request" please. Anyway, thanks for your really fast replytime.

Have a nice day!

If you want a team I can give you one with a small amount of credit in it. I started a "test team" that I no longer need.

It's only got 2K credits and is team 2731. If you want it, it's yours.
