Hi, I am using Boinc Manager 5.4.11 on Ubuntu 7.04. The system monitor shows my CPU running at 100%. I have looked through this forum on a way to reduce this factor but none of the suggestions seem to work for me. Under Activity the manager shows Network activity based on preferences selected. It wont allow me to change to any other options under Activity, if such a change would help. I have tried various settings via the General Preferences settings on the web. If I tell Boinc to only work when I am idle then it never resumes regardless how long I am away from the computer. If I tell it to use 20% of my CPU it will still run at 100%. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated thanks. Regards Todd |

BOINC 5.4.11 does not utilize the % of CPU General Preference. Suggest you start by upgrading your BOINC version to one where that setting is implemented. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
