I'm having a similar problem. I've compiled my own version of the client since the i686 version is incredibly slow, however whenever I try to connect to the server it says this: Tue Nov 29 20:57:07 2005|rosetta@home|Message from server: platform 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' not found I'm using gentoo 2.6.12-r6 on an amd64 venice For some reason it wont even give out jobs if the CHOST isn't know to the server. |

You need to make an app_info.xml file. You can look up information on it in the Wiki or on the main BOINC site. You also need to look at anonymous platform mechanism. |

A couple quick links from the Wiki and boinc pages: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/anonymous_platform.php http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=BOINC_Anonymous_Platform_Mechanism http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Found_app_info.xml%3B_using_anonymous_platform ![]() |
