Hi, Is it possible for admins to change category of site ? In the place where I'd like to install Rosetta on 20-30 computers i've got a fitering problems. I can't join project and open www because my filter categorizes that www as "The site you have chosen has been categorized as: Journals and Blogs". Ralph website is ok. I don't understand that. Kind regards, maxim |

Rosetta doesn't use www in the URL. It starts with "BOINC" which perhaps is similar enough to BLOG that fuzzy matching finds them to be the same. On Ralph, the first part of the URL is RALPH, so perhaps that's why they are being treated differently. Keith? Do you know if the alternate public URLs for bakerlab can be used as the "project URL" in BOINC? I'm moving this thread to Number Crunching. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Can you locally use the ip# instead of the url? |

The alternate URLs will not work with the more recent clients (any of the 5.x.x versions I think). Using an account manager sounds like the best solution. One thing to note is that if you do not have written permission to run BOINC on computers you do not own you can get into severe trouble. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |
