For the past couple of years I have been running Einstein@home and Rosetta@home and both projects were preset to split the resources 50/50. Einstein@home is going to be down for a couple of days and I've been trying to give Rosetta all of the CPU capacity but can't seem to find a place to change the darn thing. I suspended Einstein and thought that would do the trick, but it still shows 50/50 with Einstein suspended. I know I'm overlooking something simple, but I can't find a bloody place to change the allocation percentages. Help. F. Prefect |

Is this what you're referring to: click "participants" at the top of this web page and select "Rosetta@Home Preferences edit", then edit your resource share as high as you like, update the project on Boinc mgr. But you may not be able to change the Einstein share if the servers are not available. Suspending Einstein project will still let your computer run Rosetta full time; I'm not sure if it accrues debt or not under this scenario. |

BOINC will do it all automatically, there is no need to change anything*. *BOINC will accrue Einstein@home debt, so when it comes back online BOINC will work on Einstein@home and not Rosetta@Home for a while until everything is back in in order. If you don't want to BOINC to accrue Einstein@Home debt, then do as Nothing But Idle Time said (it may accrue a little debt depending on your settings, but not much) Link for changing your resource share |

Hi F. Prefect. Hey Fluffy, how goes it. It's been a while. Well BOINC will do JUST about everything. This machine is an old 1.2 Athlon running win98 that I used only for running these projects. It also has firewall (looking a little embarassed) that for some reason will not accept forward slashes as part of a URL address which of course I had completely forgotten about. Once the address was entered as in www.abc.xyz.org would you believe it actually connected. ;-). Sorry for the trouble. Some things never change. I still behave like an idiot on occasion. BTW, what projects are most of the Mauisun team members running. I hope my Eisnstein@home credits are being added to the team totals. Have a good New Year, F. Prefect |

Hi F. Prefect. Rosetta@home is still the main one, You are pretty much dingle handidly doing the Einstien, I think runaways does some there as well, I did a few a while back. I also do a bit for a few other projects every now and again just out of interest, there are loads now since we started a year back. I pretty much single handidly do some CPDN(ClimatePrediction) work and I had a few friends do some BBC-CCE (ClimatePredication spin off), though this is really the same as CPDN. A few doe seti (workerbee, though he recenty got a tad annoyed when the seti screensaver cause 'burn-in' on his nice LCD screen. [Note it's actually persistance and not burn-in, but annoyed none the less. Bug report was sent in the help desk I believe... anyways...) But certainly rosetta@home http://www.boincstats.com/search/all_projects.php?teamid=8d5fc9cb8e269f75103766d980610f8c to have a look. Yes all results get combined into the overall team :-) and you're easily in 6th place overall. Team mauisun.org |
