I have been thinking of detaching SETI to have more resource here. But, will those credits lose? No. They still will be on your boincstats account. I've detached other projects before, and even gone back a couple of times for short periods. My signature tells the story of three projects, one of which I am no longer part of, the other I recently re-attached to, and the other is here. The numbers will always be with you Luke Skywalker, just like the force! (Click for detailed stats) |

Oh okay, thank you. The other way to do it is to drop the resource share at seti to say 10, 1 or 0 That way if you are still on the default of 100 here and you are attached to only the two projects, you set seti to 10 rosetta would get 100/(100+10) converts to ~91% of the time seti gets the other 9% I'm not sure if 0 works yet (or properly), but it should cause the project to run only if there are no other work available from the othe other projects. Given it is seti and they generally use the most up to date server software ( look at your account you should notice a new addition added in the past day at the bottom http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=8546489 ) Team mauisun.org |

Do not use 0 (zero) for a resouce share in anything less than 5.6.x it will cause a divide by zero error and kill the core client. Dr. A has stated that a 0 resource share should work as described above but I am not sure if that has made it into code even in the latest test client. The 5.6.x clients have an error trap for this value, they do not implement it. 0.001 will generate almost the same behavior and works with any client version. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |
