Hi Gang,
Running Boinc 5.4.1, SETI and Einstein no problem. Attached to Rosetta. created account, set prefs and updated, but no application seems to have downloaded or any work units.
Rosetta shows in Projects but not in tasks.

Hi Ivor,

these two lines are the clue:

09/11/2006 00:17:34||Using earliest-deadline-first scheduling because computer is overcommitted.
09/11/2006 00:17:34||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted.

Computer is overcommitted => Your PC has too many WUs from other projects that might miss their deadline if you start crunching another project

Suspending work fetch => Your PC will not download new work until this situation is resolved, i.e. until enough of the WUs present are finished.

So if you update your project in the BOINC manager, it gives you the message:

(not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks)

because it does not tell the server to download new WUs.

Normally this situation clears itself up after some time of crunching. Your old projects will not receive new work either and somewhen the resource share you selected will tell the scheduler when to download work for which project.

Regards,

Christoph
