Hi Gang, Running Boinc 5.4.1, SETI and Einstein no problem. Attached to Rosetta. created account, set prefs and updated, but no application seems to have downloaded or any work units. Rosetta shows in Projects but not in tasks. 09/11/2006 00:17:33||Starting BOINC client version 5.4.11 for windows_intelx86 09/11/2006 00:17:33||libcurl/7.15.3 OpenSSL/0.9.8a zlib/1.2.3 09/11/2006 00:17:33||Data directory: C:Program FilesBOINC 09/11/2006 00:17:33||Processor: 1 GenuineIntel x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 10 996MHz 09/11/2006 00:17:33||Memory: 510.48 MB physical, 1.22 GB virtual 09/11/2006 00:17:33||Disk: 128.00 GB total, 81.49 GB free 09/11/2006 00:17:33|rosetta@home|URL: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/; Computer ID: 349316; location: home; project prefs: default 09/11/2006 00:17:33|Einstein@Home|URL: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/; Computer ID: 25471; location: home; project prefs: default 09/11/2006 00:17:33|SETI@home|URL: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID: 1638859; location: home; project prefs: default 09/11/2006 00:17:33||General prefs: from rosetta@home (last modified 2006-11-08 23:51:35) 09/11/2006 00:17:33||General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults 09/11/2006 00:17:33||Local control only allowed 09/11/2006 00:17:33||Listening on port 31416 09/11/2006 00:17:33|SETI@home|Deferring task 01mr04aa.24102.11266.861088.3.245_3 09/11/2006 00:17:33|Einstein@Home|Resuming task l1_1383.0_S5R1__486_S5R1a_1 using einstein_S5R1 version 424 09/11/2006 00:17:34||Using earliest-deadline-first scheduling because computer is overcommitted. 09/11/2006 00:17:34||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted. 09/11/2006 00:35:20|rosetta@home|Sending scheduler request to https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta_cgi/cgi 09/11/2006 00:35:20|rosetta@home|Reason: Requested by user 09/11/2006 00:35:20|rosetta@home|(not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks) 09/11/2006 00:35:25|rosetta@home|Scheduler request succeeded 09/11/2006 00:35:25|rosetta@home|General preferences have been updated 09/11/2006 00:35:25||General prefs: from rosetta@home (last modified 2006-11-09 00:32:18) 09/11/2006 00:35:25||General prefs: using separate prefs for home Any ideas ? Hi Ivor, these two lines are the clue: 09/11/2006 00:17:34||Using earliest-deadline-first scheduling because computer is overcommitted. 09/11/2006 00:17:34||Suspending work fetch because computer is overcommitted. Computer is overcommitted => Your PC has too many WUs from other projects that might miss their deadline if you start crunching another project Suspending work fetch => Your PC will not download new work until this situation is resolved, i.e. until enough of the WUs present are finished. So if you update your project in the BOINC manager, it gives you the message: (not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks) because it does not tell the server to download new WUs. Normally this situation clears itself up after some time of crunching. Your old projects will not receive new work either and somewhen the resource share you selected will tell the scheduler when to download work for which project. Regards, Christoph |
