Hi,
Running Rosetta with Boinc 5.4.9 installed as a service on Suse 10.0 on a P4 HT machine

Question 1: When I run 2 Rosetta Wus concurrently, I see 8 "processes" called rosetta_5.16_i6 running but just 2 of these 8 apps are using some CPU power. Is it normal ? (I've 1 GB of Ram, so it's OK but are all these apps really using the memory shown below ?)

ps aux:
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
arnaud 30112 95.8 12.6 224336 131168 ? RN 09:52 20:26 rosetta_5.16_i6
arnaud 30113 0.0 12.6 224336 131168 ? SN 09:52 0:00 rosetta_5.16_i6
arnaud 30114 0.0 12.6 224336 131168 ? RN 09:52 0:00 rosetta_5.16_i6
arnaud 30115 0.0 12.6 224336 131168 ? SN 09:52 0:00 rosetta_5.16_i6
arnaud 30246 95.1 9.5 202988 98876 ? RN 10:10 2:56 rosetta_5.16_i6
arnaud 30247 0.0 9.5 202988 98876 ? SN 10:10 0:00 rosetta_5.16_i6
arnaud 30248 0.0 9.5 202988 98876 ? SN 10:10 0:00 rosetta_5.16_i6
arnaud 30249 0.0 9.5 202988 98876 ? SN 10:10 0:00 rosetta_5.16_i6

Question 2: When I stop the Boinc service, rosetta_5.16_i6 apps stay in memory (all the other project are removed from memory). I have to kill them manually if I want the rosetta apps to be removed.
Is it normal ?

Thx and sorry if these questions seem stupid or have already been asked (didn't see them in the FAQ)

Yes, the multiple instance listing is normal. You'll see that only the parent process builds up much of any CPU time.

As to the threads remaining in core, the threads typically flush after a minute or two at the most. Have you tried waiting for an extended time to see if they flush by themselves?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I have to wait a little for the Rosetta apps to be removed from memory (I was just too impatient and accustomed to the CPDN apps that stop immediatly :o))

Thanks.
I found the web site and the project very interesting and decided to put more ressources on it.
