I thought I'd try to grab some Rosetta tasks, as they are available now, so I clicked on Update. Here's the message I got, after "No tasks sent." 3/30/2021 11:40:15 AM | Rosetta@home | Message from server: Rosetta needs 869.55MB more disk space. You currently have 7713.52 MB available and it needs 8583.07 MB. My C drive (SSD) has 258 GB of free space, and my D drive (where the BOINC data and stuff goes, has 1.99 TB of free space. What's up? What settings do you have for disk usage in Computing preferences? |

I thought I'd try to grab some Rosetta tasks, as they are available now, so I clicked on Update. Here's the message I got, after "No tasks sent." I thought this was some kind of beginner error at first, but my laptop is doing the same and it only has 8 WCG tasks on hand. I had to increase the disk space allocation from 8Gb to 12Gb. But then it's also claiming insufficient RAM, saying it needs 6.6Gb RAM but it's only got 6Gb spare To run 4 WCG tasks calling for ~30Mb each? Something's definitely changed in Boinc (rather than Rosetta) - can't think what |

Thanks. There’s no easy way to share settings, and we can’t upload images here, so Google Drive as good as any other solution… The message refers to the amount of space available to BOINC, not necessarily the total free space on the disk. You currently have 7713.52 MB available It seems that today’s new work units need (or think they need) 8.5 GB of available space. The setting ☑ Use no more than 10 GBis most likely what’s preventing the server sending any tasks, as it’s not unusual for the BOINC directory to be using 2.3 GB already. Try increasing that limit (or turning it off) and see whether anything changes. |

Try increasing that limit (or turning it off) and see whether anything changes. Having increased disk space from 8Gb to 12Gb to remove this shortfall, I've just increased my allocation of RAM when idle from 85% to 95% to make enough space to download 1 single Rosetta task, while I have 4 running WCG tasks requiring minimal RAM and 3 more WCG tasks waiting to run. This really isn't normal. I used to keep twice as many tasks on that device without the hint of an issue |

Thanks. That did the trick; BOINC is downloading one Rosetta task at a time. |

I had to let all WU finish & report, then, I reset the Rosetta project. After that, it could download new WU. Seems Rosetta wants 10GB space, but I cannot spare more than 12GB (small SSD). I wonder if it would just cleanup after itself, that more space would be available? |
