And no, we don't all drink tea out of silly little cups. And we're actually less prudish than Americans, despite the stereotype we have. Not as relaxed as the French though, their beaches are great! You remind me of a kid at the school I worked at. |

Hey! What happened to talk about Ralph@home? Maybe I need to join Ralph@home?You could try, but you'll only get a task once every blue moon. Actually probably more like twice a year there's a batch and you get about a day to grab. |

I am non-Scottish. I'm English, the only true race, you silly yank :-PWell THAT explains alot!!! LOL!!! That's one point our history lessons definitely converge on then, US History is that we fought a "Revolutionary War" to throw the British and General Cornwallis out of America in the mid 1770's. I can't say I paid much attention in history lessons (although we were only taught about battles in our own country). All I know is some Brits ran away to find a better land in the West a long time ago, and killed off the rightful owners of the land, the Red Indians. So basically, Americans are the worst of the Brits!I am non-Scottish. I'm English, the only true race, you silly yank :-PWell THAT explains alot!!! LOL!!! |

Can we return in topic, please? Ralph project seems to be semi-abandoned, but i think it's an important part of the "Rosetta environment". But, maybe, i'm wrong and project's admins are happy of this situation |

Can we return in topic, please? Okay I have a question for you then: how do I get my arm device to get arm units here? When I connect it says: "Sun 24 Jan 2021 08:03:40 AM EST | Rosetta@home | Message from server: This project doesn't support computers of type arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf" BUT Rosetta DOES support arm devices as under the applications it says: Linux running on 64-bit ARM 4.20 1 May 2020, 20:20:18 UTC 7,624 GigaFLOPS I have a new Raspberry Pi I'm trying to make work here I tried on Ralph and they don't have any units of any kind available |

Which of the several Linux like OSs are you running? I’m guessing it’s the unknown Linux it’s objecting to. At worst you could swap to the android image and run from that. ETA Here’s the thread you need :- https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=13710#35867 |

Can we return in topic, please? It's a test project, they haven't abandoned it, there was a huge amount of work a month ago, I did 4000 tasks. It just depends on how much needs to be tested out in the field. Albert@home (test for Einstein) is much more abandoned, they very rarely use it at all, but they've said they might occasionally try something. If a test can be done on a few computers in their own lab, they'll do that so they can see first hand what's happening. If a program is pretty stable, they'll just put it out into the main project. It's only stuff that's very likely to crash that they don't want going to the main project and annoying people - the 4000 Ralph tasks I did - about half of them crashed. If they did that on the main Rosetta people would grumble. The Ralph tasks were also much shorter than the usual 8 hours, perhaps it was more effort to make the main server deal with that. |

Some work on Ralph, but:There can't have been much, none of my 7 PCs got any. Only 1300 in progress according to the server status. |

There can't have been much, none of my 7 PCs got any. Only 1300 in progress according to the server status. It's usual, on Ralph, very little batch. As i said, a complex, heterogeneous code like Rosetta needs a lot of debug (see my last post of problems on Ralph), but seems they are not interested.... |

Maybe they're debugging on their own machines or on the main Rosetta? They'd use Ralph if they needed to.There can't have been much, none of my 7 PCs got any. Only 1300 in progress according to the server status. |
