To the right, “Computing Status” > Tasks Ready to Send = 0 I have been seeing that a lot too. Anyone got any ideas about why that is so frequent? Too many volunteers competing for a limited production? Help, my tagline is missing..... Help, my tagline is......... Help, m........ Hel..... |

To the right, “Computing Status” > Tasks Ready to Send = 0 A lot of the work has moved to a supercomputer platform using a new algorithm. Where jobs are suited to the distributed applications, a researcher will set up a run which could be up to a couple of million work units and we’ll work through those but usually finish them before the next researcher comes along. |

Many of you have unfortunately been affected by a recent attempt to purge spam (on Friday the 13th of all days) as we were asked by the UW IT to clean up our forums and remove spam accounts. I restored user accounts that have been deleted (and had credits) today. For those of you who have created new accounts with the same email, I changed the email to your new account so that the backed up previous account could be restored. Please let me know if there are remaining issues. After a period of no work at all, yesterday I got five R@H tasks, two of which ended as "error while computing." |

Oh, what a surprise. The boinc-process host has died again. Grant Darwin NT |

I already replied here, im running SiDock@Home (No Tasks) + Rosetta@Home (also no Tasks) Trying this for 3 Days now with a new PC? Only Changes is a GForce RTX now, before it was a RX Radeon but no other changes... I hope it will be only a Server issue |

I hope it will be only a Server issueRosetta has no work at present. SiDock does have some work at present, so you need to check there why you aren't getting any. Grant Darwin NT |

I hope it will be only a Server issueRosetta has no work at present. SiDock only has "short tasks" and I don't know what setting I need to change to receive any of them. Any advice would be appreciated. And WCG is also down for maintenance until the new year, so I'm 0 for 3 atm apart from mopping up a few Rosetta tasks that snuck through earlier today |

SiDock is ARM architecture only meow until further notice from them. Basically dormant. Asked them for a forecast, they will not say when they will have x86 work again. WCG's new Mapping Arthritis Markers (MAM?) will be interesting. They seem to have goals of becoming a true HPC workhorse so we'll see if their infrastructure is ready. https://www.cs.toronto.edu/~juris/jlab/wcg.html |

SiDock is ARM architecture only meow until further notice from them. Basically dormant.Would have been nice if they would have put that somewhere on their website. Ideally the main page, but even in the Proiect News would have been nice. I'm guessing they have very little work available, hence an application with a very (very) small user base (even with those with Linux systems prepared to roll their own to crunch ARM on Linux). I'm a complete novice with SiDock and am unaware of the basics. And I've lost track of WCG since it moved under the Krembil umbrella, but you've made me check their 'operational status' page for the first time and that's clarified things for me. Appreciate it |

While we are waiting for Rosetta and or SiDock and using alternate projects to satisfy our Science needs... One other project for Science if you happen to have a Nvidia GPU available and ready for work is GPUGRID@HOME Also a Science project Respectfully Bill F In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |

im having this for weeks on here and gpugrid.did this error come back? Is the download issue back again or is it just me? The other projects I'm running works just fine only Rosetta has problem. |

They have been announcing it for the past month - they even tried to explain whyVery well hidden then IMHO. Main page news stories- Target # 23: Ebola GP1, 11 Jul 2024 Vote for the next target!, 26 Jan 2024 Project status: December 2023, 26 Dec 2023 etc. The "About SiDock@home project" page makes no mention of it. For someone thinking of joining the project, they're the places people are most likely going to checkout to find out about the project, and what hardware is supported. And looking at the topics in Number crunching there is not even a hint in any of the thread titles for the last 12 months about the project becoming Arm / Arm on LINUX only. Grant Darwin NT |

Very well hidden and I failed to understand whyUnfortunately it's not just SIDock and Rosetta. It seems to be something common amongst many BOINC projects- insufficient (if any) information on what hardware, and software (and their versions) are needed as a minimum to crunch work for the project, and letting people know about changes to those requirements when new applications are released, and older ones retired. EDIT- and if that information exists, putting it somewhere where people would be likely to find it- ie News or About Project links... Grant Darwin NT |

While we are waiting for Rosetta and or SiDock and using alternate projects to satisfy our Science needs... +1 Einstein at Home has x86 CPU tasks. And tasks for NVIDIA, Radeon, Intel and Apple (Darwin?) gpus. Yes they run ARM tasks too. Pick one task GPU task (brp7/meerKat or OS3GW). Mixing both tasks on the same GPU will apparently slow things down. I like GpuGrid. If I could afford to keep more Gpu's running I would have one running GpuGrid until it runs out of tasks and then switch to another GPU task. Respectfully! Help, my tagline is missing..... [/quote] I call that the Mechanic/Technician effect. All too often as soon as you call in heavy support, the problem stops. Help, my tagline is missing..... Help, my tagline is......... Help, m........ Hel..... |

While we are waiting for Rosetta and or SiDock and using alternate projects to satisfy our Science needs... OBTW, Asteroids at Home, Milky way and Prime Grid all run both gpu and CPU tasks. Help, my tagline is missing..... Help, my tagline is......... Help, m........ Hel..... |
