Hi All I found this portable version of BOINC yesterday - might be of use to someone: [url]http://portableapps.com/node/17295[url] You have to 'install' it but it doesn't need any permissions from Windows so it basically just extracts itself to your chosen folder. I'm using it to run BOINC from a flash drive which I'll switch between a few computers that are only on occassionally, but are on for a few days when they are. Rather than having them all run Rosetta and then have the tasks expire, I can just move the flash drive to the next machine that will be running. It might work for sneakernetting machines without a net connection (have two flash drives and swap them once-per-week: use one to crunch while the other is taken to a internetted machine for uploading/downloading - probably easiest to use a virtual machine for doing the uploads/downloads). |

I used to do the same with a linux persistent install on a USB thumb with varying results. |
