Had this problem for a while and I don't know why it keeps coming up, but my PC isn't running any Rosetta units and just wont do :). Heres the error message:

That "access denied" msg is from your machine. So the user profile that is running BOINC does not have sufficient authority to start a new process.

You should be able to run BOINC from a user that is "sandboxed". But it needs access to the internet, and to run it's own programs.

Next step here is for you to describe how you installed BOINC, your Windows version, whether or not this installation worked previously, what instructions you followed, etc.

I have Windows XP Service Pack 3, and I installed BOINC right from its website, as with all its updates as I've found them. It has always run Rosetta @ home before (right now its running World Community Grid, Einstien@home and SETI@home with no issues). My BOINC version is 6.10.60.

As for the authority, my login is the only one on my PC and it should have all the clearance it needs, and haven't had any Net issues that would interfere with. it

If that does not shed any light, BOINC Manager does support a <task_debug> flag in the cc_config.xml to produce more diagnostic info.
