The "System requirements" page needs to be updated to include modern operating systems. The Vista operating system is problematical, and if it is listed for rosetta, I would list the minimum requirements as 2Ghz processor, 20GB disk and memory 2048MB. Windows 7 needs to be listed, and my experience indicates 1Ghz processor, 15GB disk and 2048MB memory. Fedora, Suse, and Ubuntu/Kubuntu linux should be listed, and maybe others. The processor, memory and disk requirements are the same as for the others. In general, Linux 2.6 kernels are all satisfactory. Linux 2.4 kernels are probably best listed as not recommended, until someone can vouch for them. |

The "System requirements" page needs to be updated I agree - the System Requirements page could definitely do with an update! I'm not sure why you think Rosetta needs a faster CPU under Vista than under Win7 though? I would suggest any CPU that can run Vista or Win7 is adequate, with a minimum memory requirement of 1GB for the OS plus 350MB per Rosetta task, and 2GB spare HD space - my Rosetta folder is over two years old and is less than 1GB. Obviously the recommended requirements are higher... |
