Hi I am not sure if this is the correct place to post but as the tittle says I get this problem with a number of computers, if boinc cannot comunicate with the servers then Rosetta fails nearly all my work units. But docking or seti have no problems.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Message 64275 - Posted: 29 Nov 2009, 12:49:52 UTC - in response to Message 64274.

There have been some troubled work units. It does not appear to have anything to do with a connection to the internet.

Please continue to crunch. They will get these work units out of the pool. I think we noticed a delayed response due to the holidays.

Thx!

Paul

I had a look at a few of the failed units and many of them had been failed by another computer also. Coincidence perhaps?

You have several machines there. But since the Rosetta@home application would only attempt to directly use the internet when a failure has already occurred, it seems unlikely that the lack of full-time internet connection is truely causing any problems. And more likely that you got your share of the recent problem work units with "...rama..." in the name.

Without a full-time network connection, you probably download several days of work when you connect. Which means you may just now have hit the problem work units that others ran in to a few days ago. So that would explain it. You should be running well now though.

Thanks people.

I do remember having the problem with an older computer some time back it would fail all Rosetta units if not connected. Thats the only reason I asked, perhaps I should have looked into the unit history first though.
