looking for your ideas on a new desktop or new laptop for RAH and general use

I know of a place called software warehouse or something like that, where i got my US version of XP at. thanks for the advice so far XP is fine - you can have as many cores as you like per CPU on XP Home, but you need Pro if you're using more than one CPU. Any recomendations on a good but expensive video card?
