Two other reports of transient HTTP errors in the "Problems and Technical Issues with Rosetta@home" thread. Still no such issues on my systems. Maybe contact & compare ISPs and geographic location with those others that are reporting such issues? Tracert to the Rosetta servers and see what results you are all getting? This is what i get. tracert 128.95.160.134 Tracing route to fw1.ipd.uw.edu [128.95.160.134] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1 2 2 ms 1 ms 1 ms lo1.bras2.drw1.on.ii.net [150.101.42.195] 3 2 ms 2 ms 1 ms cr2.drw1.on.ii.net [150.101.41.252] 4 55 ms 55 ms 55 ms te0-0-0-14.cr2.bne3.on.ii.net [150.101.35.210] 5 55 ms 55 ms 54 ms syd-gls-har-wgw1-be-40.tpgi.com.au [203.219.107.253] 6 55 ms 55 ms 55 ms syd-gls-har-int3-be-100.tpg.com.au [203.221.3.35] 7 * * * Request timed out. 8 208 ms 208 ms 209 ms be3670.ccr22.sfo01.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.43.13] 9 225 ms 226 ms 226 ms be2077.ccr22.sea02.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.0.242] 10 225 ms 225 ms 225 ms 38.88.51.42 11 225 ms 231 ms 225 ms et-7-0-0--4000.uwcr-ads-1.infra.washington.edu [209.124.188.133] 12 * * * Request timed out. 13 * * * Request timed out. 14 226 ms 226 ms 226 ms fw1.ipd.uw.edu [128.95.160.134] Trace complete. finally got the data files to download a few minutes ago after several automatic retries. |

Two other reports of transient HTTP errors in the "Problems and Technical Issues with Rosetta@home" thread. Still no such issues on my systems. Admittedly, I didn't think of a Trace, but I was one of the "Transient" reporters (and eventually got the files to download). Located in Missouri, USA; Google Fiber 300 Mbps (and trying to download onto two different Android devices). |

I am still having this problem on all my Linux machines, they never download, I was leaving it for a few days but had to abort them. Now I just retry a few times no change so I abort them. I have not run a Linux work unit for over 3 months due to this issue. It appears that my brothers Windows machine is not having these problems. What gives? Does anyone know? Thanks Conan |

Most likely the expired SSL/Security certificate for one or more Rosetta download/upload servers that's been a problem for a few months now. From a posting in Troubleshooting topic: Someone found that if the line |

This work around does seem to work, thank you to whoever came up with this. Conan EDIT:: Spoke to soon, all failing downloads all downloaded after this fix installed. Then they all errored out with output file absent. I will await the next lot of work units to see if it works. If it still fails then I will just set the project to No New Work and forget about it. Shouldn't still have this issue more than 3 Months since reported. |
