Welcome to Rosetta! When you run more than one project on a machine, BOINC allocates crunch time to try and balance all of the conflicting deadlines and goals of matching your resource shares, and server downtime etc. When you click update on the projects tab, and you see the message that no new work is being requested, what it means is that the BOINC manager has determined that the next day or so will be spent crunching on the other projects, and therefore no new work is needed for Rosetta. I find it a little confusing as well. I'd prefer to keep a few WUs on hand for each project, but BOINC doesn't always "think" that way. It looks ahead and says "I'm going to be spending the next 1.5 days on project A and B, so I don't need any WUs for Rosetta (project C)". ...if you want to TRICK the manager... go to the projects tab, suspend one or more other projects, then update with Rosetta, and resume the suspended projects. Keep crunching Rosetta! Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |
